Confession: I am addicted to trying out new apps. I also jump at the chance to beta test upcoming new apps and features. All of my jumping around to new and improved writing, note taking, and productivity apps, however, is taking my focus away from what matters. Getting work done.

Time to declutter. Starting with professional writing apps.

Scrievener, Ulysses, Microsoft Word, iWork Pages, Mellel

I am keeping Ulysses for all of my writing and iWork Pages for formatting documents. Done. Oh, wait. I do have to keep Word around to make sure all of the formatting is correct in the end. Ok, done.

On to note taking apps.

Agenda, Evernote, Apple Notes, OneNote, Goodnotes

I am jettisoning everything but Apple Notes and OneNote. I do keep some of my notes in Ulysses, but everything else in Apple Notes. I will also leave OneNote installed for its awesome classroom notebook I share with my students in classes. Done.

Now those pesky calendar and organization apps. These are the most procrastination filled regrets. Using a new calendar app is going to make me better organized and more productive. Yeah right.
